SZABIST offers a Ph.D Degree in Computing that can be completed during the evenings in two years after the MS degree.  4 Ph.D courses and dissertation are required to graduate.  A total of 48 credit hours must be completed.

For students with a 4 year professional (BBA/ BS/ BE/ MBA/ MCS/ MSc/ MA) degree, the PhD Program is a three year program. Additional courses may be required. After completion of 30 credits, the candidate can opt for a MS (M.Phil equivalent) degree.

In Ph.D Computing, specializations include Information Technology, Software Engineering and Computer Sciences.

For admission to the Ph.D program, the student must normally apply for admission first to the MS Program. After successful completion of the MS degree in a minimum of one year, the Ph.D degree can be earned in a minimum of another two years.

A student can also apply directly into the Ph.D program if certain admission criteria are met (see under Ph.D Admission Requirements).

The total time to earn a Ph.D degree after a four-year university degree is a minimum of three years to a maximum of seven years.
