SZABIST launched the first Retail Management Society of Pakistan (Students’ Chapter) on October 13, 2004. Ms Saira Rasheed (MBA, Class of 2005) was selected President of the society with members comprising of Zain Sethna, Rizwana Niaz, Adnan Shekhani, Yasir Durrani and Umair Ali Zai (MBA, Class of 2005). The society’s launch was celebrated with a seminar on ‘Retail Culture in Pakistan’. Speakers included Rafiq Rangoonwala, CEO Cupola Pakistan, Y H Thara, CEO Nando’s, and A G Saeed, Consultant EDC Network. Chief Guest for the launch was Usman Sattar, CEO Park Towers. At the launch, RMS also published and distributed their newsletter ‘Retail Insight’. The session was sponsored KFC, Nando’s and Ideas by Gul Ahmad.
RMS conducted a live two way interactive session from Dubai to Karachi on February 28, 2005. The session lecture was delivered by Mr Tharuvai Narayanan Pratap, CEO Bin Hendi Enterprise UAE.
