Production students of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) screened their short films on Tuesday, December 16, 2008.
There were a total of 12 films that were screened. The first short film screened was Lala — an action film made on the gangs of Karachi, followed by 5 mins, Asar, Kaari and In Retrospect. The pervading theme of all films screened was the prevailing social disturbances of our society.
In the second half of the screenings, Delirium, System Tabah Theo, and Razza Kor ta Zau were shown to the audience. In System Tabah Theo the story revolved around a rickshaw driver who enters his wonderland after consuming Bhang.
Making short films and arranging yearly film festival has now become a regular feature under the auspices of the SZABIST Media Sciences programme.
