Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) is a Chartered Institute established through Legislative Act of the Sindh Assembly and recognized and approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) as a degree awarding institution. SZABIST is a member of International Association of Universities (IAU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Asia University Federation (AUF), Federation of Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) and the Association of SAARC Universities (ASU).

SZABIST requires for its PhD program full-time faculty with a minimum earned PhD degree in the areas of Computer Sciences and Management Sciences.

SZABIST Karachi is strongly research oriented with a highly reputed PhD program currently having an enrollment of over 200 post-graduate students. SZABIST Karachi is located in one of the most prestigious localities of Karachi. SZABIST Islamabad is located in F-8 Markaz, and has started development of its custom built campus in sector H. SZABIST Larkana has started functioning in a recently constructed 80,000 sq ft air-conditioned campus. SZABIST Dubai is located in the prestigious Knowledge Village Dubai.
